About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Avionics Software Certification Engineer to support the certification and compliance of safety-critical embedded software used in aerospace systems. This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in DO-178B/C standards, software verification, and certification documentation. You will work closely with engineering and quality teams to ensure software products meet aviation regulatory requirements and are ready for certification reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another STEM discipline.
  • Experience working with DO-178B or DO-178C software certification standards.
  • Knowledge of software development and verification processes for safety-critical embedded systems.
  • Experience reviewing certification documents and compliance artifacts.
  • Understanding of software requirements traceability and verification methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review software development lifecycle artifacts to ensure compliance with DO-178B/C standards.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain certification documentation for aerospace software programs.
  • Support certification activities throughout the software development and verification lifecycle.
  • Participate in technical reviews, audits, and regulatory assessments.
  • Analyze certification issues and work with engineering teams to resolve compliance gaps.
  • Ensure software requirements, design documents, test procedures, and verification results meet certification standards.
  • Support Stage of Involvement (SOI) reviews and customer certification activities.
  • Maintain complete traceability between requirements, design, code, and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to aerospace quality processes.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and documentation quality.
