About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer Manager 2 Functional Homeroom Manager to join our team in Melbourne. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct. This role will be a combination of 80% technical SOW and 20% functional homeroom manager (FHR) SOW. In addition to performing a functional statement of work (SOW), the Section Manager will be responsible for development, production and field support of Avionics equipment which may include Flight Avionics, Communication, Navigation, Data Link, Computer, Network, Antenna, and other Sensor sub-systems. This position requires the selected candidate to have technical SOW on the Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including Earned -Value and performance measurement baseline concepts
  • Experience leading a team or project
  • Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Providing functional leadership and direction to a section of multi-disciplined engineers (typically 10-15 personnel) including building an engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation.
  • Coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs.
  • Managing team member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts.
  • Special assignments/data calls in support of the Center of Technical Excellence (CoTE)
  • Driving compliance with policies and procedures including timecards, safety, security, property management, training, and configuration control.
  • Development, production and field support of Avionics equipment which may include Flight Avionics, Communication, Navigation, Data Link, Computer, Network, Antenna, and other Sensor sub-systems.
