About The Position

McBride Consulting is hiring an Avionics Integration Engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/Airborne Warning and Control System (AFLCMC/HBS/WIW). The AWACS Division delivers airborne Battle Management Command & Control (BMC2) capabilities for joint, allied, coalition, humanitarian, and homeland defense operations. Its modernization work includes revitalizing legacy mission systems, replacing aging computer architectures, integrating multi-sensor data fusion, improving expeditionary readiness and availability, supporting planned E-3 divestiture, and shaping follow-on airborne command-and-control capabilities. This is a full-time hybrid position at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, with 20% travel to Hanscom AFB and Seattle. The engineer provides advisory and technical support for avionics and systems engineering across aircraft research, development, production, acquisition, sustainment, deployment, operations, and divestiture. Work includes developing system concepts and evaluating design trade-offs; supporting requirements, systems design and integration, testing, airworthiness, maintenance-system integration, diagnostics, and electronic support equipment; and coordinating with acquisition organizations, government agencies, laboratories, industry, and universities. The role supports engineering processes and artifacts relating to airworthiness, requirements and traceability, software releases and processes, system design and implementation, interfaces and interoperability, technical reviews, configuration audits, verification and validation, reliability and maintainability, certification, manufacturing readiness, program protection, and environmental, safety, and occupational health. It also supports development and maintenance of technical and training systems, including modeling and simulation, and assists the Government with systems integration, OSS&E, airworthiness certification, and safety-related products and guidance.

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems integration, including avionics, flight controls, electrical power, hydraulic-pneumatic, environmental control, aerial refueling, and auxiliary/emergency power systems.
  • Experience evaluating aircraft modification and integration approaches for compliance with airworthiness, operational performance, and mission requirements.
  • Proficiency conducting aircraft subsystem analysis and technical assessments to identify integration challenges and support design viability.
  • Familiarity with aircraft sustainment and integrity programs, including OSS&E, MECSIP, AVIP, and ASIP.
  • Knowledge of corrosion prevention and control, aircraft mechanical equipment, and subsystem lifecycle management.
  • Ability to support acquisition and sustainment activities for commercial derivative and military aircraft throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite to develop technical documentation, briefings, engineering analyses, and program reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex technical information to engineers, program offices, leadership, and customers.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, logistics, sustainment, and program management teams.
  • Initiative to work independently, prioritize competing requirements, and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address technical and programmatic challenges.
  • Adaptability in changing priorities and fast-paced operational settings.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including geographically dispersed and international teams.
  • Leadership through influence, professionalism, situational awareness, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
