About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is seeking an Avionics Installer. This full-time contract position, with a duration of 12 months and potential for extension, involves a critical role in the installation and maintenance of avionics systems. The installer will be responsible for leading, supporting, or assisting in the removal and installation of avionics electrical components, fabricating wire harnesses, and performing installations, terminations, ring-outs, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems. The role encompasses various levels of responsibility, from assisting in basic installations and modifications (Level I & II) to providing work direction to other technicians, ensuring task completion within deadlines, coordinating with other departments for on-time aircraft delivery, and training team members (Level III & IV). Installers are expected to work in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings, and to assist Engineering in problem resolution and repairs. Additionally, the position requires adherence to company programs such as FOD, tool control, 5-S, and all safety regulations, as well as maintaining required logs and records. There is an opportunity to transition to a direct hire position after ninety days.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Experience ranging from entry level to two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years related work experience; or four (4) years of experience in an avionics/electronic career field.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license (may be required).
  • Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program (may be required).
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Policies and Procedures manual, Inspection Procedures manual, and pertinent Process Specifications.
  • Possess the proven ability to move to new tasks with only a minimal, short-term impact to established goal hours and schedule.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Computer skills and general software knowledge necessary.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, or assist in the removal/installation of avionics electrical components.
  • Fabricate wire harnesses.
  • Perform installations, terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems.
  • Assist in installations, modifications, and fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.
  • Provide work direction to technicians.
  • Ensure completion of tasks within allotted time frame.
  • Coordinate with and assist other departments to ensure on-time delivery of aircraft.
  • Install/modify/fabricate wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, engineering drawings.
  • Train other team members in associated work assignments.
  • Use ability as a skilled specialist to contribute to the development of employees and techniques.
  • Complete work in innovative and effective ways.
  • Assist Engineering in resolving problems and makes repairs per engineering direction.
  • Assist with maintaining required logs and records.
  • Comply with the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program and all safety regulations.
  • Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
