About The Position

This position is posted for future opportunities and is not an active opening at this time. It provides engineering, systems integration, airworthiness, and lifecycle support to U.S. Air Force acquisition programs across the full Systems Engineering V-model. The role supports development, modernization, sustainment, and certification of complex aircraft systems, subsystems, avionics, and mission equipment, applying DoD, USAF, and industry-standard engineering principles to support Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E), airworthiness compliance, and mission-ready capability. It is aligned with PWS Sections 3.5.1 and 3.5.3 and includes general systems engineering and specialized avionics engineering support. The position supports USAF airworthiness processes, system integrity and safety activities, requirements development, technical and trade-off analyses, design reviews, OSS&E compliance, and acquisition/program documentation. It also supports deficiency analysis, modifications, configuration and risk management, and coordination with program stakeholders. Avionics responsibilities span requirements definition, subsystem development, modeling and simulation, integration, testing, sustainment, and airworthiness certification. The role supports AIMS and CNS/ATM requirements and certification, evaluates avionics interfaces and technologies, and reviews system test plans and avionics documentation. For assigned personnel, additional duties include work involving airborne controls and displays, data bus architectures, data recording systems, and related technical reviews.
