The job duties for this position include engineering of target missile electrical requirements, design, integration, and test. This encompasses reviewing component selection, overseeing qualification testing, reviewing design review objective evidence, updating interface control documents or specifications, and supporting failure review boards for root cause determination. Additionally, the role involves assembly, integration, test, and launch of target missiles.

  • Experience in one or more of the following key specialty areas: electrical engineering, systems engineering, systems integration, missiles, targets, flight tests, modeling and simulations, reentry vehicles, space vehicles, rocket motors and thrusters, specialty engineering, or threat systems
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Knowledge of applicable database and ERP software; MS Office including PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, MS Project, and Word applications
  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
  • Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…)
  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance
  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately +/-10%

Responsibilities

  • Have a broad knowledge of the target requirements and systems engineering, missile systems designs, missile avionics and telemetry systems, and hardware integration and test procedures
  • Possess knowledge of electrical design, test, and manufacturing for avionic hardware typically used on military flight vehicles
  • Have experience with electrical systems interface design and test of multi-component avionics packages for missile flight vehicles
  • Possess knowledge of software design, test & qualification processes used in avionics software on missile flight hardware
  • Possess knowledge of CAD tools for generating electrical drawings, and Electrical Manufacturing Standards such as IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC 7711/7721, and NASA 8739.1 and 8739.4
  • Ability to write Statements of Work for typical Electrical Hardware manufacture, rework, and test, using existing and/or new designs
  • Experience using MATLAB and/or other tools for flight and electronic systems test data analysis and design
  • Possess knowledge of typical aerospace procedures for “Control of Non-Conforming Material.”
  • Possess knowledge of typical military standards and aerospace quality standards used in manufacture and test of avionics flight hardware
  • Experience with flight hardware acceptance & qualification test procedures (both functional & environmental testing)
  • Ability to analyze flight test telemetry data from avionics hardware to assess performance
  • Experience working on failure review boards determining appropriate root cause and corrective actions
  • Possess knowledge of ordnance systems design
  • Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required
