About The Position

GMRE is currently recruiting for an Avionics Aircraft Technician. This position is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. The position will start at Nellis AFB, NV. The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation and data display. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment. Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician.
  • Experience working with aircraft wiring.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to maintain professional appearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation and data display.
  • Interpret and advise on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
  • Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
  • Must be knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
  • Interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Remove and replace F-16 aircraft parts and accessories/components.
  • Make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications.
  • Install Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.
