The Avionics A&P Technician will be responsible for performing avionics maintenance tasks in accordance with the Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, and the USA Jet General Maintenance Manual.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must hold a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Must maintain a valid U.S./state driver’s license.
  • Must maintain a valid passport (U.S. or other nation).
  • Must be able, after training and authorization, to operate Company vehicles and equipment on airport and over-the-road.
  • Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, wiring diagrams, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to remain calm during adverse conditions.
  • Ability to think and react quickly with a sense of urgency to time-sensitive problem situations.
  • Detailed organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel without restriction in and out of the U.S.
  • Aircraft Maintenance personnel must be able to travel on short notice to perform line maintenance and/or aircraft recovery/repairs as needed, for indefinite periods of time.
  • Ability to complete the training and qualification requirements as defined in USA Jet approved/accepted manuals.
  • Successful candidates must pass an initial, and random, Drug and Alcohol screening process as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and a fingerprint based criminal history records check and/or Security Threat Assessment (STA) as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to: Walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach/handle items.
  • Work with their hands and tools.
  • Talk and hear others in conversations via phone, computer, or in person.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move items up 50-100 pounds.
  • Ability to wear company provided safety equipment required to perform job functions.
  • Vision abilities required: Close vision, Distance vision, Color vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, and the USA Jet General Maintenance Manual as they apply to the operation of the Avionics Shop.
  • Perform tasks assigned by the Lead Avionics Technician in accordance with current FARs and USA Jet standards.
  • Indicate to the Lead Avionics Technician that needed progressive inspections can be accomplished.
  • Report any discrepancies noted during the performance of assigned tasks to the Lead Avionics Technician.
  • Annotate all work accomplished after completion of an assigned task.
  • Notify the Lead Avionics Technician or USA Jet Inspection Department (as applicable) when work performed requires inspection sign-off.
  • Perform tasks and operate equipment in a safe and proper manner.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to the Lead Avionics Technician or the Director of Maintenance.
  • Actively participate in USA Jet Safety Programs and Safety Management System.
  • Report all safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that they and their co-workers are performing their functions in the safest possible manner.
  • Follow the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Organization with legal authority at the location at which they are working.
  • Perform all tasks as assigned by your Lead or Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
