About The Position

The Avionic/Aircraft Instrument Technician will test, troubleshoot, diagnose component level repair and modify a variety of aviation instruments and accessories to ensure perfect function and provide the customer with reliable and highest quality repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electronic repair
  • Knowledge of Wheatstone bridge theory and ohms law
  • Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction
  • Multi-tasking a necessity
  • Thorough knowledge of 145 repair station standard practices and procedures
  • Ability to type with accuracy and speed
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and to project a positive, concerned image to the public
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities
  • Operate effectively with Windows-based computer systems and maintenance tracking software
  • Communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a 145 repair station a plus

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret complex aircraft wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical orders.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair avionics and electronic systems to the component level using electronic test equipment and technical publications.
  • Apply knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, Wheatstone bridge theory, Ohm’s Law, and signal conditioning for various aircraft sensors.
  • Utilize test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, dielectric testers, frequency generators, and counters to perform diagnostics.
  • Perform precision soldering on wires and connectors; use crimping tools, wire strippers, continuity testers, and perform pin-out testing for MIL-SPEC connectors.
  • Route, secure, and tie-wrap cables in accordance with aviation standards and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in accordance with FAA and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, and other technicians to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment.
  • Operate effectively with Windows-based computer systems and maintenance tracking software.
  • Communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal, to ensure accurate technical documentation and compliance with aviation safety protocols.
