About The Position

Tutoring/Intern opportunities exist at the Family Center, elementary, middle, and high schools in District 6. Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day. Tutors/Interns serve as guides and facilitators of students' learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. Tutors/Interns may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutor's availability.

Requirements

• Active enrollment in higher ed-e.g. college or university
• Prior to employment, all candidates must pass a District 6 background check at the expense of the district
• Organizational and record keeping skills
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage time and meet obligations with minimal supervision
• Maintain confidentiality and perform all functions of the position
• Successful college students bring a sufficient level of expertise to the positions.
