About The Position

GovCIO is currently hiring for an Aviation Training Division Survival Instructor to provide water-survival and physical-fitness instruction to international military students. This position will be located in Pensacola, FL and will be fully on-site position. The NITC ATD Survival Instructor provides water-survival and physical-fitness instruction to international military students using established NITC curricula. This high-risk training position requires exceptional physical readiness, sound judgment, and ongoing compliance with prescribed medical, psychological, safety, and instructional qualifications.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of experience in water-survival and physical-fitness-related work or instruction.
  • Exceptional physical and mental condition sufficient to perform and evaluate required water-survival and physical-fitness standards.
  • Successful completion of the medical screening required for high-risk instructors, renewed every three years.
  • Successful completion of the required psychological evaluation using an approved screening method.
  • Consent and ability to successfully complete drug screening upon request.
  • Completion of the Naval Aviation Water Survival Instructor Course, Navy Basic Swimming and Water Survival Instructor Course, or an equivalent instructional qualification course.
  • Completion of the U.S. Navy Lifeguard Course or an equivalent instructional qualification course.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting military high-risk training programs.
  • Experience instructing international military students.
  • Experience with BUD/S screening, EOD preparatory training, swim preparation, or dive preparatory training and screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide swim, water-survival, and physical-fitness instruction to international military students at NAS Pensacola.
  • Conduct and evaluate demanding physical and water-based training in accordance with established NITC curricula and applicable high-risk training requirements.
  • Monitor student performance and enforce safety requirements throughout practical training events.
  • Review assigned curricula and submit recommended updates at the conclusion of each course.
  • Maintain required instructor qualifications, screening documentation, and training records.
  • Provide associated administrative support required by the task order.
