Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic (commercial, defense, or apprenticeship)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience with close tolerance drilling (within .003) and precision measurement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with military aircraft platforms (especially F/A-18)
  • Advanced precision skills (tight tolerances up to .001 drilling / .0005 measurement)
  • Familiarity with aircraft structural repair, corrosion control, and finishing processes
  • Experience using assembly jigs, repair equipment, and specialized tooling

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural repairs and overhauls on F/A-18 E/F flight control systems
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals
  • Identify, remove, and install various fasteners (rivets, hi-locks, bolts, etc.)
  • Execute precision drilling and measurement tasks within tight tolerances
  • Fabricate, assemble, and modify metallic and composite components
  • Apply finishes such as primer, paint, sealants, and corrosion control treatments
  • Utilize specialized tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.)
  • Complete accurate maintenance documentation and technical logs
  • Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives and technical standards
  • Collaborate with team leads and report discrepancies or technical issues
