About The Position

Daher Aerospace in Stuart, Florida is seeking Senior Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team. You will be a hands-on mechanic involved with the production and assembly of complex metallic and composite aerostructures helping ensure production and delivery goals are met. Daher Aerospace in Stuart Florida is a manufacturer of metallic and composite Aerostructure. The Stuart site is a key U.S. facility focused on assembling these complex aerostructures for Boeing and Gulfstream aircraft. With over 500 employees and 440,000 sq. ft. of production space, the site supports major programs like the 767, 777, and KC-46. Since its acquisition in 2022, Daher has invested in workforce development and infrastructure, positioning Stuart for future growth and final assembly operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a sheet metal mechanic manufacturing heavy aircraft structures.
  • Employment is contingent on passing the required hands-on plate test as well as verbal and/or virtual skills assessments.
  • Experienced structural assembly, preferably on Boeing and Gulfstream products.
  • Ability to follow written, electronic and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to use a variety of fabrication hand tools and precision measuring instruments to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
  • Able to work from blueprints, sketches, work instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is required.
  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including required overtime as needed. May include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, and maintain aircraft structural sheet metal and composite components.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and rework structural parts using a variety of fabrication techniques. Including cutting, bending, forming and heat treating to shape metal components.
  • Use essential hand tools; drills, rivet guns, shears to cut, shape and assemble sheet metal components.
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, protractors, etc.) to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Perform inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Read and work from engineering drawings and production specifications.
