About The Position

This position is responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of university-owned aircraft in support of the FAA Part 141 flight training program. The A&P Mechanic ensures all aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and manufacturer specifications to support safe and efficient flight operations.

Requirements

• High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and general aviation maintenance practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Organizational and time management abilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Aviation Maintenance Technology or related field
• One (1) to three (3) years of general aviation maintenance experience
• Experience with piston-powered training aircraft (e.g., Cessna, Piper, Cirrus)
• Experience in a Part 141 or Part 145 environment
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking systems
