About The Position

Whippany Actuation Systems is a leading certified repair and overhaul provider with an immediate opportunity for an Aviation Maintenance Technician to join our team of talented professionals. In this role you will troubleshoot, maintain and repair military and civil aircraft components, ensuring we meet our customers’ stringent requirements. You will also complete return to service documents. Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
  • Repairman's Certification
  • Repairman's Certification requires 18 months in-house experience and knowledge of 5 LRUs & FAA approval
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Eligibility for any required U.S. Government authorizations to conform with U.S. export control regulations
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory and circuit schematics
  • Knowledge of basic Mechanical mechanisms
  • Knowledge of FAA repair station operations and practice
  • Proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, disassembly and reassembly of electro-mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation including blueprints, manuals, technical specifications
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in repair of electro-mechanical actuators
  • Basic computer literacy including proficiency with email (Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, including preventative maintenance or alterations in accordance with FAA part 43
  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair electro-mechanical actuation systems
  • Test articles and components in accordance with applicable data
  • Initiate requisitions for stock and materials
  • Maintain stock storage, control, segregation and identification of all items or articles
  • Accurately complete all required documentation involved in the repair and/or testing of articles returned for service
  • Work with Engineering and others to rectify complex customer technical issues
