About The Position

The Aviation Maintenance Data Specialist will maintain electronic aeronautical records within a computerized maintenance management system. Will receive, compile, and record aeronautical component information from maintenance work orders and aircraft diagnostic systems to provide up to date information for maintenance scheduling. This includes the receipt and/or transfer of aircraft, engines, and tracked repairable components. Screening includes updating change management, engineering change proposals, and modifications for applicability to assigned aeronautical equipment. Responsibilities include tracking of naval aircraft flight record flight information and smart aircraft portable memory devices to maintain up to date usage for applicable equipment. In addition, The Aviation Maintenance Data Specialist will initiate, maintain, close out, and reinitiate aeronautical component records. They maintain records on components that have service life limits and will monitor accumulations of forced removal items per engineering usage standards. The Aviation Maintenance Data Specialist is required to prepare maintenance data reports and correspondence within the aircraft maintenance department and will also be responsible for trend interpretation/analysis in support of aviation readiness reporting requirements to aid maintenance leadership and logisticians in the performance of aviation maintenance related tasks.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Maintenance and Production Control procedures.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft log books, Logs and Records, and production daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Must be able to analyze Maintenance and Material data.
  • Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all Organizational levels.
  • Understand Technical Language terms in associated field.
  • Ability to read and interpret data is required.
  • Ability to pass a government background check and drug screening.
  • Must have Completed the Navy / Marine Corps Aviation Maintenance Administration Course (AMAC)
  • Must have Completed “C” School (Data Analysis)
  • Must have Technical Directive Experience.
  • Must be able to operate and manage Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS)
  • Must be familiar with IMA Red OOMA
  • Five (5) or more years of recent Aircraft Maintenance Data Specialist Experience

Responsibilities

  • Create a Phase package for any A/C going into Phase and ensure the proper pre/post reports are screened and inputted into the Phase package
  • Ensure Technical Directives for all Phase A/C are maintained properly in OOMA and completed during Phase when necessary
  • Ensure the 500C is completed for any Phase A/C, to include Engines, and is routed through the TD Coordinator & MMCO
  • Once all Phase requirements are complete, ensure the completed Phase package is signed by all required personnel and given to the Maintenance Data Specialist (MDS) work center so they can file it away in the aircraft historical records
  • Ensure all components in the PMIC that are replaced during Phase are communicated to the MDS work center, to include Pitch Links, ensuring the cards are removed and replaced in the logbooks
  • Ensure any log sets (ALS) that are removed during Phase are transferred to IMA (Red OOMA) and communicated to the MDS work center
  • Update the ACTS database when any carded components are removed and replaced during Phase
  • Draft and submit the 3M Summary at the beginning of each month
  • Maintain all company personnel in OOMA and assign SMQs, reset passwords, unlock accounts (as needed)
  • Ensure new personnel complete an SMQ sheet and are sent to the MDS work center where they are maintained
  • Ensure personnel who obtain new qualifications (CDI, QAR, etc.) are providing a screenshot of their approved qualification in ASM and then sent to the MDS work center to get filed away with their SMQ sheet
  • Screen all Phase MAFs to ensure they are cut correctly and are not invalid prior to being signed off
  • Provide proper training to personnel when MAF invalids are discovered
  • Assist personnel with troubleshooting MAFs when errors or issues arise
  • Route access requests to the Commanding Officer for new employees in order to obtain base access & computer access
  • Ensure all current CNAF AMAs, V-22 PMIC, 4790 (NAMP), and applicable publications are read and understood to ensure the L&R (3300), Data Analysis (3600), & Phase programs are in compliance with these publications
