About The Position

A growing and innovative engineering firm is looking to add a Senior Aviation Engineering Project Manager for their Indianapolis team! This role involves business development, management, and technical responsibilities to ensure the successful delivery of aviation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 8+ years of significant airside design experience
  • PE License
  • Experience in the successful application of FAA criteria/regulations
  • Project management experience
  • Business development/marketing experience (writing proposals, scopes of work, budgets)
  • Experience using project management software
  • Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and identify/market additional business opportunities for existing clients.
  • Manage client relations and participate in proposal presentations.
  • Utilize CRM for tracking all business development activities.
  • Meet with new/existing clients to gather project information and develop proposal sections and scopes of work with technical staff.
  • Manage overall financial performance and day-to-day operations.
  • Implement growth/sales plans and develop strategic plans for the department.
  • Manage and deliver quality aviation projects on-time and within budget, meeting/exceeding client expectations.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis and create job site specific health/safety plans.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, utilizing staff effectively to keep projects on budget.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide technical direction and development on scope of work.
  • Mitigate project risk and assign projects to designers/engineers.
  • Manage scope, identify/document changes in scope, and acquire amendments for changes.
  • Perform airfield civil engineering design tasks.
  • Manage the bidding process.
  • Prepare complex studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide senior QC review and direction.
  • Visit work sites to monitor project progress.
  • Communicate regularly with clients.
  • Define scope of work and man-hour requirements.
  • Ensure tasks, project schedules, and budgets are met.
  • Create engineering reports, specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
  • Lead project decisions regarding technical aspects, cost, and schedule.
  • Identify schedule/cost variances and recommend corrective action.
