About The Position

Garver's experienced Aviation Team in Overland Park, KS is seeking a motivated civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by experienced aviation design professionals and industry leaders. Interns will receive training in various elements of airfield pavement design, pavement maintenance, airport lighting, and construction oversight for general aviation and commercial service airports. The role also involves visiting Garver’s Aviation project sites and gaining experience in the competitive consulting engineering industry by assisting with project administration, submitting proposals, and grant applications. The Garver Launch Program is an immersive, hands-on intern development program designed to enhance the summer experience.

Requirements

Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
Interest in pursuing civil engineering in the aviation industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation

Responsibilities

Work alongside and be mentored by experienced aviation design professionals and industry leaders.
Receive training from senior engineers in various elements of airfield pavement design, pavement maintenance, airport lighting, and construction oversight for general aviation and commercial service airports.
Visit Garver’s Aviation project sites, such as airport hangars, taxiways, and runways.
Gain experience in the competitive consulting engineering industry by assisting with project administration, submitting proposals, and grant applications.
Engage daily with fellow Garver Launch interns and industry professionals to build your network.
Participate in Garver's acclaimed wellness program.
Give back to your community through volunteer activities as part of our Garver Gives initiative.
