About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Airport Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Florida Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Tampa, FL. Your role involves assisting in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadway, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure. You will participate in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks, which may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions. You will research project site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations. You will prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outlines, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations under the close review of a more experienced professional. You will perform field observations of construction where appropriate and contribute to design assignments by knowing how to clearly convey the design intent to engineering drawings and specifications. You will perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. The role requires the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and to uphold engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • PC and CAD skills required.
  • Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills.

Nice To Haves

  • EIT preferred
  • Familiarity with airside and landside aviation projects desired
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is desired.
