About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is hiring an AV/VTC Technician I for the Marine Corps University (MCU). As part of the Epsilon, Inc. acquisition, this role offers expanded resources and opportunities within a dynamic, collaborative environment focused on innovation and customer success. The technician will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of audiovisual and Video Teleconference (VTC) equipment and events in classroom and auditorium settings.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must hold active DOD Interim Secret or Secret Clearance.
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification required (GSEC, GICSP, CND, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP or CCNA-Security).
  • Knowledge and experience in the operation of digital audiovisual systems like Haivision, V-Brick, AMX, and Cisco.
  • Knowledge and experience in configuring VTC systems and establishing and maintaining connectivity with other VTC sites.
  • Must be able to provide audio visual system operational coverage of MCU events outside of normal working hours and the capacity to surge support in times of event saturation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Technology industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, facilitate, and support complex audiovisual systems in MCU auditoriums for MCU events.
  • Configure, support, and troubleshoot basic audiovisual and associated computer equipment in classrooms.
  • Conduct arrangements and provide real-time on-site support for VTC sessions involving MCU VTC assets.
  • Configure VTC equipment for proper operation and troubleshoot problems before or during VTC sessions.
  • Set up, initiate, and conduct operational checks for briefings and video conferences within USMC facilities.
  • Instruct MCU personnel in the proper operation of the VTC system and perform physical setup of classrooms.
  • Respond to customer trouble calls and track tickets in IT/AV tracking software.
  • Collect requirements from customers to meet needs.
  • Support high-level events, including venue rehearsals and coordination.
  • Provide tier 3 support for all AV/VTC systems in the MCU environment.
  • Code, configure, manage, and install AV systems and related equipment (e.g., switching devices, VTC, camera, audio, video).
  • Provide tier 3 support for auditorium production equipment (lighting, camera, mics) and recording events.
  • Operate complex smart board/MondoPad systems in MCU auditoriums and classrooms.
  • Configure and troubleshoot smart board equipment, including imaging and network connections.
  • Coordinate with the IA Task Lead to incorporate required IA controls into network and data center design and provide information security for MCU networks.
  • Monitor and perform proper maintenance on all A/V equipment for repairs, including renewing batteries.
  • Monitor software updates for InFocus Mondopad's and Microsoft Office on all devices.
  • Assist other team members to provide superior customer support.
  • Maintain clear communication with MCU's IET Helpdesk Support and Student/Faculty on A/V and VTC matters.
  • Provide audio visual system operational coverage of MCU events outside of normal working hours and surge support during event saturation.
