About The Position

One of our clients in Fort Eustis, VA, needs an AV Technician for a permanent position. This role involves providing on-site direct AV/VTC support, including troubleshooting issues for a variety of AV/VTC equipment such as Cisco-based conferencing systems and DISA’s conference lines. The support includes day-to-day VTC setup, scheduling, troubleshooting, maintenance, equipment replacement, installation, in-call VTC support, and training. The technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting and working around rooms that are "hard down", configuration support including building and maintaining drivers and updating firmware, and supporting customer requests, VTC meetings, and sessions across 10 different VTC rooms. This includes equipment support for Cisco and Polycom VTC systems, leveraging in-depth knowledge of monitors, projectors, and videoconferencing systems, managing site inventory and spares using a database, and completing Quarterly Preventive Maintenance projects and weekly status reports. The role also involves creating/resolving break-fix tickets, escalating issues to the VC Lead Technician, and engaging the VC Lead on-site for large project deployments and escalations. Support extends across both NIPR and SIPR communication mediums and includes all Skype for Business VTC conferencing.

Requirements

  • Secret Security Clearance
  • CTS Certification (must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Security+ CE Certification (IAT Level II)
  • 2+ years audio/visual experience desired
  • Complete knowledge of intermediate-level Microsoft Teams functionality, hardware peripheral device implementation, and troubleshooting (Microphones and camera devices/drivers)
  • Understanding of integrated AV signal paths (Scalers, Switchers, DAs, Extenders) for high-level troubleshooting
  • Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word primarily) and Windows

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site direct AV/VTC support, including troubleshooting issues for a variety of AV/VTC equipment, including Cisco-based conferencing systems, as well as DISA’s conference lines
  • Support day-to-day VTC setup, scheduling, troubleshooting, maintenance, replacement of equipment, installation of replacement equipment, in-call VTC support, and training on VTC equipment
  • Troubleshoot and creatively work around rooms that are "hard down"
  • Provide configuration support including building and maintaining drivers, updating existing firmware for preventative maintenance
  • Support customer requests, VTC meetings, and sessions across 10 different VTC rooms; equipment support for Cisco and Polycom VTC systems
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of the functionality of monitors, projectors, and videoconferencing systems
  • Manage site inventory and spares with the use of a database
  • Manage/complete Quarterly Preventive Maintenance project and weekly status reports
  • Create/resolve break-fix tickets by monitoring the client ticketing system
  • Escalate large break-fix issues and workarounds to the VC Lead Technician
  • Engage the VC Lead on-site for large project deployments, floor renovations, and escalations
  • Support all Skype for Business VTC conferencing
