About The Position

The AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audiovisual equipment to support events, meetings, and daily venue operations. This role ensures high-quality sound, lighting, and video experiences while troubleshooting technical issues and providing excellent customer service to clients and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Experience with audiovisual equipment, live event production, or technical support
  • Strong understanding of sound systems, video equipment, and basic lighting setups
  • Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and adapt to changing event needs
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and move equipment such as speakers, cases, and staging components
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, or irregular hours depending on event schedules
  • Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate
  • Must have good positive energy throughout the day
  • Must be able to print legibly for Team Members, management, and guests to read
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move quickly
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests
  • Maintain general cleanliness of assigned stations and the entire venue
  • Provides professional and exceptional service
  • Set up, test, and operate audio, video, lighting, and presentation equipment for events and meetings
  • Install and configure microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, monitors, switchers, and related AV components
  • Perform sound checks and adjust audio levels to ensure clarity and consistency
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively during live events
  • Assist clients, presenters, and event staff with AV needs and provide clear, friendly guidance
  • Maintain and organize AV equipment, cables, and storage areas
  • Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or repair needs
  • Support event transitions, including equipment resets, breakdowns, and room reconfigurations
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment is used properly and securely
  • Collaborate with event managers, IT teams, and venue staff to ensure seamless event execution
  • Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings
  • Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example
  • Portrays a positive and professional attitude
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments
  • Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members
  • Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned
