About The Position

We're S&L Integrated, a commercial AV integration company that designs, installs, and services high-tech systems that help people communicate — from TVs and sound systems to video conferencing, control systems, and all the cabling that ties it together. You'll find our work in conference rooms, houses of worship, courtrooms, and classrooms. We're growing, and we're building a team that grows with us. This role has a clear path — the right person could move from technician to Lead Tech as they develop their skills and demonstrate their capabilities.

Requirements

  • Some hands-on AV experience (commercial integrator, live events, theater and stage production, house of worship tech teams, school AV programs, or similar environments).
  • Familiarity with audio, video, lighting, cabling, or low-voltage systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving instincts.
  • Ability to read — or willingness to learn to read — blueprints and schematics.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools safely.
  • Genuine passion for AV technology and a desire to build a long-term career in this industry.
  • Stable work history and an excellent attendance record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly process information, follow directions, and produce quality work.
  • A team-first attitude.
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets our insurance standards.
  • Ability to travel to job sites; approximately 60% overnight travel required, with some multi-day projects outside of the Brentwood, TN area.
  • Consent to a background check and drug screen.
  • Provide documentation confirming legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Install complete AV systems based on each project's scope, timeline, and our workmanship standards.
  • Run wire and cabling.
  • Hang and install equipment (monitors, speakers, equipment racks, etc.).
  • Gather and organize equipment, parts, and tools for installs.
  • Return unused parts and equipment to inventory.
  • Keep vehicles and worksites clean and organized.
  • Report on-site risks and issues promptly to keep projects on track.
  • Accurately track and log time spent on each assignment.
  • Take on greater ownership of project execution, crew coordination, and site leadership (as Lead Tech).
