About The Position

Windsor Hospitality is looking for their newest AV Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual and IT systems. This role combines technical expertise in AV equipment with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure to support seamless communication, presentations, and events. The Renaissance Asheville is a 278 room hotel located in the heart of downtown Asheville, with plenty of greenscapes and sweeping views of the Smoky Mountains. The Blue Ridge Mountains are the perfect backdrop to explore North Carolina's best kept secret. We welcome guests to discover the unexpected as they journey through our neighborhood.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
  • Knowledge of networking principles, including IP configuration and wireless networking.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Ability to work a cloud-based IT Helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including Office and MS Teams.
  • Familiarity with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to travel between company locations or off-site events as required.
  • 2+ years of experience in AV/IT support, preferably in a corporate and events environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Audio-Visual Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and operate AV equipment for meetings, events, and conferences, including projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and digital displays.
  • Troubleshoot AV issues, ensuring minimal disruption during live events.
  • Maintain and upgrade AV systems to meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on AV and IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors for the repair and upgrade of AV and IT equipment.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use good communication skills with employees and guests.
