About The Position

Poll Sound is seeking an Audio Visual Installation Technician to join their St. George Integration team. This role involves AV construction and low-voltage installation, including pulling cable, hanging and wiring gear, building racks, and bringing full systems to life. It's an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction, electrical, low-voltage, or IT experience looking for a long-term career in commercial AV. Poll Sound is willing to train the right candidate with the right attitude.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with hand and power tools, construction sites, and working at heights.
  • Able to plan your work, stay organized, and finish tasks on time.
  • Professional communication with coworkers, contractors, and customers.
  • Self-motivated, honest, and dependable.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Willing to work occasional overtime and some travel.
  • Lift and carry 50+ lbs at times.
  • Stand, crouch, kneel, and climb ladders/lifts for extended periods.
  • Work in ceilings, mechanical rooms, and other tight or awkward spaces typical of construction environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in low-voltage cabling (data, security, telecom, fire alarm, or AV).
  • Experience in electrical/construction trades.
  • Experience with IT/networking basics.

Responsibilities

  • Install commercial audio, video, and control systems in new construction and retrofit projects (churches, schools, performance spaces, and commercial buildings).
  • Pull, label, and terminate low-voltage cabling (speaker lines, network cabling, signal lines, control wiring).
  • Mount and install devices: speakers, displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, wall plates, racks, and control panels.
  • Assist with rack building, equipment layout, wire management, and system neatness/labeling to Poll Sound standards.
  • Help with basic system configuration and testing (signal flow checks, gain structure, and basic DSP loading under supervision).
  • Read and follow drawings, schematics, and construction plans with guidance from lead technicians and engineers.
  • Work safely on lifts, ladders, and in active construction environments, following jobsite and company safety practices.
  • Occasionally support service calls or small upgrades as needed once systems are installed.
