Feeding Tampa Bay•Tampa, FL
•$42,700 - $45,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Feeding Tampa Bay is seeking a creative, hands-on AV and Technology Specialist to join our mission-driven team. As our primary AV Specialist, you'll help drive our audio-visual operations and serve as the technical backbone of our events. The role requires flexibility in both skills and schedule: AV and events are the primary focus, including regular nights and weekends, with IT support filling the time in between. Your mix of work will shift with our event calendar. You will help manage our AV environment end to end, from event equipment and conference room systems, to run-of-show execution, while helping to explore new hardware and tools that make our events and spaces better. When events are quiet, you will join the core IT team, supporting daily tasks and Tier 1 and Tier 2 help desk requests.

Requirements

  • Excel working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and demonstrate the ability to embrace the FTB’s commitment to treat all people with equity and respect in pursuit of our mission to feed people in need and mobilize our community to eliminate hunger
  • 2+ years of experience in end-user support, AV, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting live events or AV systems, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Windows and macOS.
  • Working experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Azure Entra ID, Intune, and Freshdesk (or comparable tools).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including how AV systems operate on a network.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to think on your feet in live environments.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Feeding Tampa Bay, and a commitment to treating all people with equity and respect.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus relevant certifications; Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • AV control system experience (e.g., Crestron) and familiarity with audio, video, streaming, and hybrid-meeting platforms.
  • Curiosity about emerging tools and a track record of introducing new technology or improving existing setups.
  • Basic understanding of security protocols, SOC 2, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Knowledge of physical security systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage and maintain Feeding Tampa Bay's AV systems, including conference rooms, event spaces, control systems, and portable equipment. Troubleshoot and improve them over time.
  • Serve as the primary on-site AV and technical lead for internal and external events, including planning, setup, breakdown, and maintenance.
  • Partner with events staff to support run-of-show from both an AV and IT perspective: cueing, live operation, and real-time problem solving.
  • Research, test, and recommend new AV hardware, software, and tools that expand our capabilities, when budget and time allow. Prototype ideas and bring solutions, not just fixes.
  • Adapt quickly when plans change, and keep events running smoothly under pressure.
  • Maintain accurate records of AV equipment and accessories. Create setup guides, room documentation, and training materials for staff and event users.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for software, hardware, AV, and network issues via helpdesk, phone, email, and in person, primarily during event downtime.
  • Assist the core IT team with day-to-day tasks, including device setup, account and access management, and routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot a wide range of technical problems, escalating complex issues to vendors and managing resolution from start to finish.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, software, and peripherals.
  • Keep accurate records of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Create and update user-friendly documentation for the help desk team and end users.
  • Assist with network maintenance, troubleshooting, user access management, and physical security systems such as access control and surveillance.

  • Flex scheduling is provided where possible.
