Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required (Professional Level 54T).
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience, or master’s degree and 3 years, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience is required (Senior Professional Level 55T).
- Minimum of 3 years of technical supervision experience is required (Senior Professional Level 55T).
- Expert in all technical areas.
- Understand financials.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in AC/DC theory/semiconductor theory.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in wireless communication technologies.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in voice and data transmission technology.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in digital broadcasting systems.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in computer hardware and operating systems.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in fabrication (welding, panel construction, etc.).
- Expert knowledge/understanding in soldering.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in test equipment utilization (fiber, copper).
- Expert knowledge/understanding in system troubleshooting.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in construction management.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in cable, fiber, wire codes.
- Expert knowledge/understanding in LED Board Displays.
- Ability to handle detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Must possess a rare and extremely high capacity to prioritize tasks according to urgency, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and work with others to accomplish complex technical goals, under pressure of extremely high production standards for events that are frequently broadcast internationally and to large audiences locally.

Responsibilities
- Provide or oversee live production support for Office of Information Technology (OIT) customers, specifically in the area of Live Production Video Engineering, Infrastructure Design and Project Management.
- Provide events services on a 24x7 basis to all of Brigham Young University, for a broad variety of clients and venues.
- Oversee all systems of assigned events including maintaining equipment and infrastructure.
- Specialize in video engineering support and will supervise/direct others who provide engineering support for these events.
- Be in charge of production facilities including all infrastructure with event venues and all production equipment used during events.
- Assist the AV production department with LED boards, projection, sound, lighting, teleprompter and recording equipment.
- Coordinate complex infrastructure projects and communicate the technical implications to others, training and teaching others of all levels.
- Perform upgrading and maintenance of circuits to the component level and troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems.
- Design and implement systems used by the AV team.
- Operate, maintain and supervise production control rooms and mobile production units for events.
- Coordinate production facilities, crews, vehicles and tools.
- Perform camera setup, calibration, color & shading, temperature, balance, rendition, exposure.
- Perform all other technical parameters of multiple cameras before, after and during events.
- Perform high definition camera installation, positioning, configuration and use.
- Perform color correction for single and multi-camera indoor and outdoor environments.
- Manage campus-wide and building-wide backbone fiber and network distribution systems.
- Manage head-end program origination and signal processing systems.
- Manage individual room, office, and classroom connections.
- Manage back feed systems for in-building program origination.
- Perform installation, maintenance and configuration of end user systems.
- Perform design/development research and design consultation for projection systems.
- Perform purchasing and installation of projection systems.
- Perform observation and monitoring of LED Board Displays, including remote monitoring.
- Design video recording systems.
- Perform dubbing, mixing and general production of post-event videos and audio.
- Perform indoor live event lighting for massive activities at major activity centers.
- Perform outdoor live event lighting.
- Perform athletic event lighting.
- Perform studio lighting.
- Manage classroom, auditorium, and Church speech reinforcement systems.
- Manage classroom and auditorium playback reinforcement systems.
- Manage large venue and specialty sound systems.
- Manage ADA-required hearing assistance systems.
- Perform acoustic consultation.
- Manage classroom media systems.
- Manage radio systems.
- Perform RF safety compliance consultation.
- Perform new building and remodel consultation and coordination.
