We are building a pool of qualified and motivated candidates for future opportunities and hiring consideration as openings become available. Auxiliary Operators at Thomas Hill play a crucial role in supporting safe and efficient plant operations by operating turbine and boiler auxiliary equipment. Key responsibilities include monitoring, inspecting, and adjusting equipment, performing housekeeping, and recording equipment readings to ensure reliable energy production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of one-year industrial mechanical or electrical background.
  • Obtain passing results from the applicable pre-employment test(s).
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Required to work from heights.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn all components of the power plant.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate the turbine and boiler auxiliary equipment within the power plant, including systems such as circulating water, hydrogen cooling, equipment lubricating, water treatment, building heating and cooling, pumps, fans and compressors.
  • Operate anhydrous ammonia systems to include unloading trucks in accordance with procedures.
  • Start, stop, inspect, adjust, and lubricate equipment, keeping a close eye on equipment health, and escalating issues when equipment maintenance is required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Analyze gauge readings, perform necessary equipment testing, and write work requests for equipment repair.
