About The Position

The Auxiliary Operator is responsible for operating and inspecting power plant systems, including boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment, in accordance with safety operating procedures. This role involves monitoring and inspecting various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, interpreting data from meters and gauges, performing material sampling and water treatment, and safely operating heavy industrial mobile equipment. Additional duties may be assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule
• 2nd MA Fireman license or higher required

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience operating heavy industrial equipment preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures, systems include, but are not exclusively limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment
• Monitor and inspect various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations
• Monitor air pollution control equipment
• Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as required
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as: cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
• Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
