About The Position

Conduct the research, development, integration, deployment, and evaluation of robotic and unmanned systems across multiple operational domains and DoD warfighter mission areas. Function at the intersection of software and hardware to design, build, test, and demonstrate new robotic capabilities that address complex client problems in sensing, autonomy, and human interaction. Apply advanced engineering skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing and debugging software and algorithms in C / C++ for Linux-based embedded systems, including driver development and integration of sensors, platforms, and interfaces
  • 2+ years of experience working with UAS platforms and flight controllers
  • 2+ years of experience developing autonomy algorithms such as localization and path planning for navigation
  • 2+ years of experience deploying, testing, and debugging embedded system software, including requirements verification, test automation, and optimization
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Robotics

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with QGroundControl
  • Experience with software containerization methods and utilities such as Docker and Docker-compose
  • Experience leading software development efforts following DevOps principles, including Agile, CI / CD, and test-driven development, and using automation tools, including pipelines and runners
  • Knowledge of ROS2 to develop software for robotic applications
  • Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Robotics field preferred
  • Doctorate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Robotics field a plus
  • FAA Small UAS Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
