About The Position

The Autonomous Vehicle Technician will support vehicle readiness, sensor calibration and validation, and fleet operations. The role includes performing routine vehicle inspections and upkeep, cleaning sensors, checking cables and connectors, and documenting component swaps. The technician will execute prescribed calibration and alignment procedures, run validation checks, and record results. Fleet tasks include preparing vehicles, running documented Linux commands, maintaining tracking records, and escalating failed calibrations or unexpected issues. The position is a 12-month contract based in Sunnyvale, California, at $35 per hour.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical and electronics aptitude.
• Computer proficiency and ability to accurately follow technical standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Familiarity with SSH, SCP, file navigation, and executing documented Linux commands; advanced troubleshooting is not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in autonomous vehicle fleet upkeep, depot operations, or ADAS system maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with LiDAR, Radar, Camera, and GPS/IMU calibration, including chart or target alignment routines.
• Ability to read and interpret basic Bash or Python scripts to troubleshoot script execution failures.
• Ability to audit existing SOPs, serve as a local escalation point, and assist with onboarding new technicians.
