About The Position

Moove is seeking a highly experienced and technically authoritative AV Tech 4 to serve as the highest level of on-site technical expertise within depot operations. The role is the final escalation point for complex diagnostic, high-voltage, and warranty-related repairs, ensuring autonomous vehicles meet safety, quality, and rider-only readiness standards. The AV Tech 4 works closely with operations, market leadership, and engineering stakeholders to resolve advanced technical issues, implement predictive maintenance strategies, and mentor AV Tech Levels 1–3. The position performs and oversees expert-level diagnostics and repairs involving high-voltage systems, battery assemblies, power electronics, complex electrical architectures, and software-to-hardware conflicts. It analyzes fleet data and fault trends, optimizes diagnostic and maintenance systems, supports operational process improvements, interprets and disseminates SOP updates, and leads root cause analyses and internal knowledge documentation. The AV Tech 4 is the site-level authority on lithium-ion battery and high-voltage safety, including electrical shock, arc flash, and thermal-event protocols. The role oversees safety audits and quality checks, with a target fixed-right-first-time rating of 4.00 or higher, and ensures compliance with internal policies, partner requirements, and rider-only vehicle readiness standards. This safety-sensitive role requires operation of a motor vehicle for company business and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

  • ASE L3 (Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist) or equivalent high-voltage certification required.
  • Expert-level ability to diagnose and repair high-voltage battery systems, power electronics, and complex electrical architectures.
  • Ability to resolve complex diagnostic and repair issues, including harness-level and pin-level electrical problems.
  • Ability to serve as the final on-site authority for complex software and hardware conflicts before engineering escalation.
  • Advanced capability in analyzing fleet data and fault trends to support predictive maintenance.
  • Expert use of diagnostic platforms and maintenance management systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing workflows to maximize depot throughput and vehicle uptime.
  • Experience delivering or supporting train-the-trainer models and translating complex technical material into practical instruction.
  • Ability to mentor AV Tech Levels 1–3 in high-voltage safety and advanced diagnostics.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings and feedback effectively to engineering partners.
  • Ability to manage high-voltage risks and emergency response protocols for electrical and thermal events.
  • Ability to enforce quality auditing and maintain a depot-wide fixed-right-first-time rating of 4.00 or higher.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with internal safety policies and external partner rider-only readiness standards.
  • Comfort making high-stakes technical and safety decisions that affect fleet deployment and passenger safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving hardware, software, and SOPs.
  • Expert proficiency with shop equipment, including vehicle lifts, high-voltage tooling, and advanced diagnostic interfaces.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving history under the company’s insurance standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Associate’s degree with equivalent mastery-level field experience.
  • Ability to obtain required OEM warranty certifications within one year of hire, as applicable to supported vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform expert-level diagnostics and repairs on high-voltage systems, including battery assemblies, power electronics, and complex vehicle electrical architectures.
  • Serve as the final on-site technical escalation point for complex triage and software-to-hardware conflicts before engineering escalation.
  • Execute and oversee advanced OEM warranty repairs in accordance with approved engineering specifications and safety standards.
  • Analyze fleet data and recurring fault trends to develop predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Evaluate and optimize diagnostic platforms and maintenance management systems.
  • Partner with market and operations leadership to recommend and implement improvements to fleet health, depot efficiency, and vehicle uptime.
  • Assist with interpreting, localizing, and distributing updated SOPs and train-the-trainer materials.
  • Mentor and develop AV Tech Levels 1–3, particularly in advanced diagnostics, high-voltage systems, and technical decision-making.
  • Lead root cause analyses for recurring failures and create internal documentation to prevent repeat issues.
  • Act as the site-level authority on lithium-ion battery safety and protocols for electrical shock, arc flash, and thermal events.
  • Enforce quality-check standards and maintain a target fixed-right-first-time rating of 4.00 or higher through rigorous auditing.
  • Implement and oversee safety audits to ensure high-voltage and critical repairs meet regulatory and partner requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal safety mandates and external partner requirements for rider-only vehicle readiness.
  • Communicate technical findings and feedback to engineering partners to resolve fleet-wide technical blockers.
  • Operate a motor vehicle for company business and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
