Autonomous Vehicle Operator (MiCa)
About The Position
Circuit is seeking tech-forward pioneers to help launch and scale its Level 4 autonomous shuttle, MiCa. As an Autonomous Vehicle Operator (AVO), you will be the 'Human-in-the-Loop,' monitoring advanced software, managing system alerts, and interacting with riders to ensure a safe and friendly experience. MiCa operates on a fixed loop within Mizner Park, supported by Guident’s GuideOn Remote Monitor and Control Center for live human oversight and assistance. This role requires technical precision, situational awareness, and a safety-first mindset, with a focus on both hardware and software.
Requirements
- 3+ years of safe driving experience with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Comfortable with computer interfaces, tablets, and following complex technical checklists.
- Ability to process data on a screen while simultaneously watching the road.
- Ability to troubleshoot a software alert while calmly answering a passenger’s question.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and meet vehicle height/weight safety requirements.
- Willingness to complete paid training, evaluation, and certification.
- Availability to support operations between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
- Ability to work four (4)-hour shifts within the operating window.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with simulators, drones, or gaming is a major plus.
- Background with remote-controlled systems or simulators requiring rapid response.
- Experience in hospitality, tourism, events, or customer service.
- Genuine interest in autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, or emerging technology.
Responsibilities
- Perform full vehicle startups, software initializations, and system checks.
- Monitor real-time data feeds and pedestrian activity.
- Use a handheld controller interface to navigate tricky spots.
- Explain autonomous technology to riders, ensuring they feel safe and excited.
- Undergo rigorous training to manage remote monitoring systems and ultra-low latency software.
- Ensure the vehicle is charged, sensors are clean, and the cabin is pristine.
