About The Position

ValCorp is seeking an Automotive Worker to perform minor repairs and preventive services that keep motor vehicles clean, safe, and mission-ready. This role involves a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle readiness and functionality. The position requires adherence to technical manuals and proper use of automotive tools. The Automotive Worker will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of vehicle-maintenance experience through schooling or verifiable on-the-job experience.
  • Valid and current state driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain site forklift and other required licenses or certifications.
  • Ability to understand and use technical manuals.
  • Ability to complete vehicle-maintenance paperwork.
  • Ability to safely manipulate hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must provide and maintain their own General Mechanics Toolbox suitable for performing all assigned maintenance and repair duties.
  • Must complete a favorable background investigation.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining military tactical vehicles, lawn equipment, ATVs, side-by-sides, HMMWVs, and light wheeled trailers.
  • ASE and/or diesel mechanic certification.
  • Experience with field repairs and recovery operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor repairs and preventive services on motor vehicles.
  • Install and maintain vehicle decals.
  • Check and replace batteries.
  • Rotate, repair, and replace tires.
  • Wash, polish, and clean vehicle interiors and exteriors.
  • Drain, flush, and replace engine, transmission, and differential lubricants.
  • Check, clean, calibrate, and replace spark plugs.
  • Clean and replace oil and air filters.
  • Adjust brakes and replace windshield wipers and other minor parts.
  • Assist with major overhaul work by disassembling and cleaning parts and repairing or replacing approved components.
  • Perform work in accordance with applicable technical manuals.
  • Use automotive tools correctly.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Second-shift premium is $0.75 per hour when applicable.
  • Third-shift premium is $1.25 per hour when applicable.
