About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Vehicle Detailer to join our collision repair team. This position is responsible for restoring vehicles to pre-accident appearance through expert detailing, paint finishing, and final quality preparation. The ideal candidate has experience with collision repair environments and is highly proficient in wet sanding, buffing, and polishing newly refinished paint surfaces to achieve a flawless, showroom-quality finish.

Requirements

Previous experience in automotive detailing, collision repair, or automotive paint finishing required.
Strong experience with wet sanding and machine buffing of freshly painted vehicles.
Knowledge of paint correction techniques, polishing compounds, pads, and finishing products.
Ability to identify paint defects and determine the appropriate correction process.
Familiarity with rotary and dual-action polishers.
Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing exceptional results.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
Ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
Comfortable working around paint products, chemicals, and detailing equipment while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

Experience in a collision repair or body shop environment.
Knowledge of OEM paint finish standards.
Ceramic coating application experience is a plus.
Paint correction and scratch removal expertise.
Ability to maintain production schedules without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

Perform complete interior and exterior vehicle detailing following collision repairs.
Expertly wet sand painted panels to remove dust nibs, orange peel, runs, and other paint imperfections.
Buff, compound, polish, and finish painted surfaces using rotary and dual-action polishing equipment.
Restore paint finishes to OEM and customer quality standards while preventing swirl marks, holograms, and burn-through.
Clean and prepare repaired vehicles for final delivery.
Wash, decontaminate, clay bar, wax, and apply protective coatings as required.
Vacuum, shampoo, clean, and condition vehicle interiors.
Clean windows, wheels, tires, trim, and engine compartments when applicable.
Perform final inspections to ensure vehicles meet company quality standards before customer delivery.
Maintain detailing equipment, buffers, sanders, and cleaning tools in safe working condition.
Keep work areas organized, clean, and compliant with all safety regulations.
Assist painters and body technicians with masking, vehicle preparation, and final cleanup when needed.
Report any paint defects or quality concerns to the Paint Department Manager immediately.
