About The Position

The Automotive Touch-Up Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and restoring minor paint imperfections on vehicle exterior surfaces. This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of paint products and repair techniques, and the ability to produce high-quality results in a fast-paced automotive environment. The technician will work closely with team members to ensure vehicles meet company quality standards while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Knowledge of automotive exterior surfaces, paint systems, and repair materials.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and paint application equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles, if required by the position.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of automotive touch-up, paint repair, refinishing, or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicle exterior surfaces for wear, minor paint damage, scratches, chips, and other cosmetic imperfections.
  • Diagnose repair requirements and determine appropriate touch-up procedures.
  • Perform paint touch-up repairs utilizing approved tools, equipment, and paint products.
  • Prepare repair areas through cleaning, masking, sanding, buffing, and other required processes.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure repairs meet company standards.
  • Maintain paint inventory, supplies, and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Document repairs, materials used, and services performed within company systems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding vehicle conditions and repair recommendations.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and environmental compliance requirements.
