About The Position

The Title Clerk provides clerical support by processing and filing Title paperwork to establish ownership of vehicles being purchased or sold for the Schomp Automotive Group. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, as assigned. Requirements

  • Possess a working knowledge of cash, retail and finance sale/title packets.

  • Ability to process plates and registration for company vehicles.
  • Ability to process "Courtesy Delivery” transactions and the required plates and registrations.
  • Working knowledge of both State and Country processing and tax collections.

  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Responsibilities

  • Work and process at least 20 Titles per day.
  • Obtain duplicate titles from the State of Colorado.
  • Punctual and regular attendance.
  • Check-in new vehicle Certificates of Origin (Titles), record stock numbers and file appropriately.
  • May provide processing and accounting entries for vehicle acquisition into dealer inventory.
  • May execute accurate review of vehicle acquisition checklists to validate payments to clients for purchased vehicles.
  • Call to research Titles not received from Customers and Lienholders, document all research.
  • Apply for duplicate Titles from the State of Colorado.
  • Answer incoming phone calls from customers, lenders, and other Schomp employees regarding Title status.
  • Assist with answering Titling questions received by email.
  • Perform all titling functions by following company-approved processing procedures.
  • Responsible for customer data privacy; keeping computers and files protected.
  • Notify manager of problem Titles; follow-up on all out-standing Title issues.
  • Practice safe work habits, and follow the company’s safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.
  • Assists in coaching and training the title team on the following: Processing courtesy deliveries and plates & registration for “Company” vehicles in Colorado.
