Entry Level Automotive Technician - FT
About The Position
Avis Budget Group is seeking a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined individual to join their team as an Entry Level Automotive Technician. This full-time position offers a great opportunity to build an automotive career, gain hands-on experience with a variety of newer vehicles across multiple brands, and earn ASE certifications. The role involves performing preventive maintenance and light repair work on the company's fleet, supporting vehicle availability and ensuring a safe, dependable rental experience for customers. Depending on experience, there may be opportunities to assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 6 months of auto maintenance experience or automotive technical school coursework
- Ability to obtain at least 1 ASE certification within the first year
- Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
- Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently
- Must be able to enter, exit and drive vehicles
- Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
Nice To Haves
- 6 months auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on fleet vehicles.
- Conduct oil and fluid services.
- Perform tire changes and rotations.
- Execute basic repairs and other routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics (depending on experience).
- Ensure work is performed in a safe and quality-focused manner.
- Support vehicle availability by keeping vehicles well-maintained and reliable.
