About The Position

Absolute Auto is looking for a motivated Entry to Mid-Level Automotive Technician to join our team at our Port Matilda location. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in building a career in the automotive repair industry. We are willing to train the right person who has a good work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in becoming a skilled automotive technician. The ideal candidate will have some basic automotive knowledge or hands-on experience and be interested in learning more advanced diagnostic and repair procedures. As your skills and abilities grow, there will be opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement.

Requirements

  • Some automotive experience or basic mechanical knowledge preferred, but we are willing to train the right entry-level candidate.
  • Must have basic hand tools suitable for entry-level automotive repair.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Willingness to learn and develop automotive repair skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn how to use diagnostic equipment and repair information systems.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and manufacturer repair specifications.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ability stay on task.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to obtain ASE certifications and additional automotive training.
  • Willingness to obtain a Pennsylvania Safety Inspection and Emissions License as skills and experience develop.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, fluid services, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
  • Perform basic automotive repairs, including brakes, suspension, cooling systems, exhaust, and other general repairs.
  • Assist experienced technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair procedures.
  • Learn proper diagnostic procedures and how to use automotive diagnostic equipment.
  • Inspect vehicles for safety, maintenance, and repair needs.
  • Properly document vehicle findings, work performed, and parts used.
  • Follow repair procedures, manufacturer specifications, and shop standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Continue developing automotive knowledge and technical skills through hands-on training and education.
