About The Position

Car Pros is looking for a skilled, dependable, and professional Automotive Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, follows proper diagnostic and repair procedures, and works well with service advisors, management, and fellow technicians. As an Automotive Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of automobiles, vans, trucks, and other automotive vehicles while providing exceptional workmanship and maintaining a safe, professional work environment.

  • Employees are responsible for helping safeguard and properly care for dealership assets, including vehicles, customer vehicles in the dealership’s care, tools, computers, and other equipment.
  • Employees are expected to contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and professional dealership. This includes cleaning up after themselves, keeping their work area neat and clean, properly disposing of trash, and helping ensure vehicles and merchandise are properly displayed.
  • Employees are required to follow all dealership safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Automotive technicians regularly work with a variety of chemical products as part of normal job duties.
  • Employees are expected to complete required training under the company’s Hazard Communication Program.
  • Understand and follow workplace chemical safety procedures.
  • Use the company chemical inventory list as needed.
  • Refer to Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) for applicable products.
  • Properly use all required personal protective equipment when handling chemicals or performing hazardous tasks.
  • Stand intermittently for up to approximately 40% of the workday.
  • Walk intermittently for up to approximately 20% of the workday.
  • Sit intermittently for up to approximately 5% of the workday.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, reach, and handle tools and equipment.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequently push and pull equipment and hand tools.
  • Occasionally climb, balance, and crawl.
  • Frequently handle hand tools and automotive components.
  • Work safely around vehicles, machinery, diagnostic equipment, and automotive repair equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and overhaul automobiles, vans, trucks, and other automotive vehicles.
  • Examine vehicles and discuss the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with customers, Service Advisors, or the Service Manager as needed.
  • Develop repair procedures using technical manuals, charts, diagnostic equipment, and professional experience.
  • Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, and replace components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, and other vehicle systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
  • Repair, replace, reline, and adjust brake systems.
  • Perform wheel alignments and repair or replace shock absorbers and related suspension components.
  • Replace and adjust headlights.
  • Install and repair automotive accessories, including radios, heaters, mirrors, windshield wipers, and other equipment.
  • Complete a TruVideo multi-point inspection on all vehicles prior to invoicing.
  • Road-test vehicles before and/or after repairs as required.
  • Properly document work performed and maintain accurate and timely records.
  • Work cooperatively and professionally with Service Advisors, management, technicians, and all dealership personnel.
  • Follow all Car Pros policies and procedures, including those outlined in the employee handbook and through Compli.
  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked in accordance with company timekeeping policies.
  • Follow dealership dress code and uniform standards.
  • Properly use all required personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Treat customers, coworkers, and members of the public courteously and respectfully.
  • Never use profanity while on the job.
  • Follow all company policies regarding non-discrimination and harassment.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
