Entry Level Automotive Technician - FT
About The Position
Avis Budget Group is seeking a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager-to-learn Automotive Technician to join their team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build an automotive career, gain hands-on experience with a variety of newer vehicles across multiple brands, and earn ASE certifications. The technician will perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on the company's fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and reliable for customer use. This position offers a supportive shop environment and opportunities for growth into higher-level mechanic roles.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 6 months of auto maintenance experience or automotive technical school coursework
- Ability to obtain at least 1 ASE certification within the first year
- Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
- Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
- Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
Nice To Haves
- 6 months auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on fleet vehicles.
- Conduct oil and fluid services.
- Perform tire changes and rotations.
- Execute basic repairs and other routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics as skills develop.
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe and quality-focused manner.
- Support vehicle availability by keeping vehicles well maintained and reliable.
