About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of Barrington, part of Murgado Automotive Group, is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The technician uses advanced, factory-approved diagnostic technology and completes accurate, efficient repairs in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards. The role is part of a professional, team-oriented dealership focused on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The position offers compensation based on experience and performance, with the ability to earn commission beyond the listed salary range of $80,000–$150,000 per year.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, ideally with luxury or high-performance vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of electronic systems, engines, and mechanical components.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Dedication to customer service and quality repair work.

Nice To Haves

• Mercedes-Benz Certified Technician status or dealership experience is strongly preferred.
• ASE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Mercedes-Benz vehicles according to dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Use factory-approved diagnostic tools to identify and address vehicle issues.
• Inspect vehicles, identify malfunctions, and maintain detailed records of work performed.
• Stay current on automotive technologies and participate in manufacturer-provided training.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean workspace.
• Communicate vehicle issues and necessary repairs clearly to service advisors and other team members.
• Complete repairs promptly to meet customer expectations and dealership standards.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain high workmanship standards.
