About The Position

Responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing the repair, service, and/or maintenance work. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include examining customer vehicles, identifying necessary vehicle repairs and maintenance, estimating cost of repairs, performing vehicle repairs and maintenance, documenting services performed, performing services efficiently and according to dealership guidelines, following dealership and manufacturer service guidelines, requesting necessary parts, effectively utilizing available technologies to enhance customer experience, maintaining CSI at or above Company standards, maintaining an organized, clean and safe work area, participating in required training, accurately recording all hours worked in the company timekeeping system, following Safeguards rules and regulations, demonstrating the Company’s Core Values, complying with Company policies and procedures, and observing all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Technical training or commensurate technical experience required.
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Automotive field of study/work experience
  • 5+ years of desired work experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certified/senior technician with respective manufacturer.
  • State inspection/emissions license required by State.
  • All required manufacturer fundamental training and/or NAPA training provided by HAG.
  • Meets and/or exceeds manufacturer requirements for ASE tests.
  • Completed manufacturer training to perform: warranty repairs/recalls on most vehicles, PDI’s, maintenance, and minor repairs.
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
  • Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
