About The Position

Poquet Auto is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician capable of performing advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and providing technical leadership within the shop. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining Poquet Auto’s reputation for quality, accuracy, and integrity.

Requirements

5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
ASE Master Technician certification preferred (or equivalent experience)
Strong diagnostic skills with electrical and drivability systems
Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment and scan tools
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Own tools appropriate for an A Level Technician
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred

Responsibilities

Perform advanced diagnostics on drivability, electrical, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and brake systems
Accurately diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues efficiently and correctly the first time
Interpret scan tool data, wiring diagrams, and technical service information
Complete high-level repairs including engine, transmission, and major system repairs
Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation
Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding diagnoses, repair recommendations, and timelines
Maintain detailed, accurate repair documentation
Follow all safety procedures and shop policies
Maintain a clean and organized work area
