Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening as required
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital repair orders
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills

  • A personal set of professional automotive hand tools appropriate for their experience level
  • Ability to safely operate lifts, alignment equipment, tire machines, balancing equipment, and diagnostic tools

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Work in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions
  • Work around moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and shop equipment while following all safety procedures

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of automotive repair experience
  • Previous dealership experience
  • ASE Certifications (A-Series)
  • Manufacturer certifications (Toyota, Lexus or other OEMs)
  • Experience using OEM diagnostic software
  • Experience diagnosing complex drivability and electrical concerns
  • Proficiency with scan tools, oscilloscopes, and electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Experience with engine performance diagnostics
  • Brake, steering, suspension, HVAC, transmission, and engine repair experience
  • Hybrid and EV service experience
  • Ability to accurately estimate repair times
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • State inspection license (where applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and inspect a wide variety of vehicles.
  • Identify mechanical and electrical concerns accurately.
  • Complete repairs efficiently and ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and dealership quality standards.
  • Maintain productivity and follow safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Perform maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, filters, batteries, and inspections.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, suspension, steering, brake, HVAC, and engine performance concerns.
  • Perform repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete warranty repairs following OEM procedures.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment and scan tools to identify vehicle issues.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, and technical information.
  • Inspect vehicles and recommend additional maintenance or repairs.
  • Perform engine, transmission, suspension, steering, electrical, and brake repairs.
  • Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation.
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and technician notes.
  • Communicate findings clearly with service advisors and management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all OSHA, EPA, dealership, and manufacturer safety guidelines.
  • Continuously participate in manufacturer and dealership training programs.
