About The Position

Avis Budget Group is seeking an Entry Level Automotive Technician to join their team. This full-time position is ideal for individuals interested in building an automotive career, enjoying hands-on work with vehicles, and who are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn. The role involves working on a variety of newer vehicles across multiple brands in a supportive shop environment. It serves as a great entry point for technicians looking to gain experience, earn ASE certifications, and advance into higher-level mechanic roles. The technician will perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on the company's fleet of newer vehicles, including oil and fluid services, tire changes, rotations, basic repairs, and other routine maintenance tasks, all performed in a safe and quality-focused manner. Depending on experience, technicians may assist more experienced colleagues with additional repairs and diagnostics. This role is crucial for keeping vehicles well-maintained and reliable, supporting vehicle availability and ensuring customers have a safe, dependable rental experience.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • At least 6 months of auto maintenance experience or automotive technical school coursework
  • Ability to obtain at least 1 ASE certification within the first year
  • Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently
  • Must be able to enter, exit and drive vehicles
  • Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on a fleet of newer vehicles.
  • Conduct oil and fluid services.
  • Perform tire changes and rotations.
  • Execute basic repairs and other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics as needed.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and quality-focused manner.
  • Support vehicle availability by keeping vehicles well-maintained and reliable.
