About The Position
Group 1 Automotive is actively hiring Main Line Automotive Technicians at our Kansas City-area dealerships, including Shawnee Mission Kia and BMW of Shawnee Mission. We're seeking experienced, bumper-to-bumper technicians who excel at diagnostics, drivability concerns, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, engines, and transmission repairs. Requirements
- 3–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
- Proven ability to run your own bay independently
- Strong diagnostic skills with minimal supervision
- Solid understanding of: Electrical systems, Engine and drivability diagnostics, Suspension, steering, brake, and HVAC systems
- Experience performing major repairs in an OEM dealership setting
- Own professional‑grade tools required for main line technician work
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical vehicle concerns with accuracy and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot drivability, engine, transmission, HVAC, brake, steering, suspension, and electrical system issues using advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Manage repair orders independently while maintaining strong productivity and quality metrics.
- Provide clear and detailed documentation of inspections, diagnoses, and completed repairs.
- Work closely with Service Advisors to ensure customers receive accurate repair information and timelines.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment.
- Maintain a safe, organized workspace and uphold manufacturer and dealership standards at all times.
