About The Position

Avis Budget Group is seeking a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined individual eager to learn and build an automotive career. This entry-level role involves hands-on work with a variety of newer vehicles across multiple brands in a supportive shop environment. It's an excellent starting point for technicians aiming to gain experience, earn ASE certifications, and advance into higher-level mechanic positions. The primary responsibility is performing preventive maintenance and light repair work on the company's fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, reliable, and available for customers, thereby supporting a safe and dependable rental experience.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• At least 6 months of auto maintenance experience or automotive technical school coursework
• Ability to obtain at least 1 ASE certification within the first year
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
• Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely

Nice To Haves

• 6 months auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on the fleet of newer vehicles.
• Conduct oil and fluid services.
• Perform tire changes and rotations.
• Execute basic repairs and other routine maintenance tasks.
• Assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics, depending on experience.
• Ensure all work is performed in a safe and quality-focused manner.
• Support vehicle availability by keeping vehicles well maintained and reliable.
