About The Position

CarShop is looking for highly ethical, team-oriented people to quickly and efficiently perform routine maintenance and identify the cause of breakdowns, and repair them using the most optimal solutions, while achieving personal and company goals in accordance with the CarShop culture and values. Automotive Technicians are a part of one of the most important teams at CarShop US-Penske Automotive Group.

Requirements

  • Automotive / Auto Service Excellence (ASE) preferred with 3-5 years of experience
  • State and Emissions License preferred.
  • Great work ethic: reliable and dependable.
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing to include a background check, drug test, and Motor Vehicle Record; must have a valid driver's license.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to listen to customers and determine how to assist them
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and repair processes
  • Outstanding attention to detail with a commitment to quality
  • Ability to use technical reference materials and technical manuals in written and online formats
  • Ability to communicate technical terms to non-technical audience
  • Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification is preferred
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
  • Perform work outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealer and manufacture/factory standards.
  • Full automotive troubleshooting and testing.
  • Propose creative, practical, and cost effective solutions to problems and process the improvements.
