Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience required
  • Strong work ethic: reliable and dependable
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding performance goals as an Automotive Technician/Mechanic
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment including diagnostic tools, alignment systems, wheel and tire equipment, and A/C equipment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on delivering a high level of customer service
  • Take pride in producing quality work the first time
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and stay up to date with rapidly changing automotive technology
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing to include a background check, drug test, and Motor Vehicle Record; must have a valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification preferred
  • State and Emissions License preferred
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning to specification.
  • Work on a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles, not just warranty repairs.
  • Perform work outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealer and manufacturer standards.
  • Complete full automotive troubleshooting and testing.
  • Propose creative, practical, and cost-effective solutions to problems and process improvements.
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a clear, non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs.
  • Ensure vehicles are repaired accurately and kept clean; road test vehicles to ensure quality repair the first time.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
